Welcome!

My name is Celena and I’m a Neuroscience PhD Candidate and a mom to a son with the rare neurodevelopmental disorder, PURA Syndrome. Through storytelling, visual communication, and public engagement, I aim to bridge the gap between complex science and the real-world impact it has on the relationship between families, clinicians, and researchers. As a a neuroscience researcher and a Board Member for the PURA Syndrome Foundation, I aim to improve the lives of people with neurodevelopmental disabilities by making science more understandable, actionable, and human-centered.
